Our lease program offers riders and families opportunities to build deeper relationships with horses, grow confidence and independence, and continue developing skills both in and out of the saddle.

Ever Dreamed of Owning Your Own Horse?  As your skills advance and your interest peaks, you may take advantage of the opportunity to lease a horse of your own.

While in the horse leasing program, you can continue weekly lessons with the added benefit of lease rides and sharpening your horsemanship skills on your leased horse. This program is designed for students who are able to ride independently, at the walk, trot and canter, and able to tack up on their own or families looking to help their littles ones develop horsemanship skills.  Lease options are a great way for riders and families considering buying a horse to gain practical ownership experience without taking on all the costs associated with the purchase and care of a horse. Horse leasing also provides the novice the opportunity to accelerate their skills, confidence, and experience that horse ownership requires without many of the upkeep costs involved. For example, Lazy J Ranch assumes costs for training, insurance, farrier, and vet services and will provide the means for you to get experience at local shows, competitions and clinics. 

Lease of Lesson Horses 

1/4 Lease 

• $450.00 / Month - Shared use of one Lazy J Ranch lesson horse

• Includes 2 Paid - Independent - Unsupervised 1 HR ride or horsemanship session/week. 

• Lessee must schedule ride times on the portal not to interfere with lesson horse use and facility schedule.  All times must be approved.

• Lessee must take 2 Lessons / Month with Lazy J Ranch Licensed Instructor

1/2 Lease

• $600/Month - Shared use of one Lazy J Ranch lesson horse

• Includes 3 Paid -Independent - Unsupervised - 1 HR ride or hosesmanship session/week 

• Lessee must schedule ride times on the portal not to interfere with lesson horse use and facility schedule.

• Lessee must take 2 Lessons / Month with Lazy J Ranch Licensed Instructor

3/4 Lease

• $750.00 / Month -   Shared use of one Lazy J Ranch lesson horse

• Includes 4 Paid - Independent - Unsupervised-  1 HR or horsemanship session/week.

• Lessee must schedule ride times on the portal not to interfere with lesson horse use and facility schedule.

• Opportunity to Participate in Work to Ride Program

• Lessee must take 2 Lessons / Month with Approved Lazy J Ranch Licensed Instructor or Trainer

Full Lease 

• $950.00 / Month -   Exclusive Lessee of  Lazy  J Ranch lesson horse (horse not available for more than one lease)

• Includes 5 Paid - Independent - Unsupervised - 1 1/2 HR or horsemanship session/week.

• Includes Unmounted Training Time with Horse

• Includes Off Property Rides (= 1 lease ride) Approved by Barn Manager - Transportation Responsibility of Lessee and Requires Approval from Barn Manager

• Includes Use of Horse for 6 Clinics/Year (= 1 lease ride), Entree Fees and Transportation Responsibility of Lessee and Requires Approval from Barn Manager

• Includes Use of Horse for 8 Shows / Year (= 1 lease ride) - Entree Fees, Transportation and Coggins Responsibility of Lessee

• Lessee must schedule ride times on the portal not to interfere with lesson horse use and facility schedule.

• Opportunity to Participate in Work to Ride Program for Extra Rides - Tokens towards Trailer Rental etc.

• Lessee must take 2 Lessons / Month with Approved Lazy J Ranch Licensed Instructor or Trainer
